Security Guard Annual
Training: The first required course is an 8-Hour Pre-Assignment
Training Course. The 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course for Security Guards
is a requirement for all individuals seeking employment as security guards in
New York State.8 Hour Annual In-Service Security Training Course is taught in
Central Long Island by our New York State DCJS Certified instructors. The 8
Hour Annual In-Service Course is designed to refresh and cement important
concepts in being a security guard.
The second course is the 16 Hour On-The-Job Security Guard Training
Course. This training program will be relevant to the duties of the
security guard, requirements of the work site, and the needs of the employer. The
General 16 Hour On-the-Job Training Course for Security Guards will be taught
over two (8 hours) sessions. The General 16 Hour On-the-Job Training Course
contains 9 mandated topic areas of study that will conclude with the required
one hour for review and examination.
8 Hour Annual In-Service Training
Course: The third training course is the 8-Hour Annual in-Service Course. The
8-Hour Annual In-Service Training Course for Security Guards is a requirement
for all security guards in New York State and must be completed on a calendar
year basis for each year succeeding the completion of the mandated 8-Hour Annual
In-Service Course for Security Guards. This course is designed to meet current
training needs and refreshes or update guards in changes in the field of
security.
